FocalFreeze: Magnifier & Light — Android application by J7Software
Effective date: August 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data FocalFreeze: Magnifier & Light ("the App", "FocalFreeze") collects, how it is used, and who it may be shared with. The App is developed and published by J7Software ("we", "us", "our").
By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
FocalFreeze is a camera-based magnifier and flashlight app that works entirely offline for its core function. We do not operate any backend server for the App, we do not require account creation or sign-in, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your camera images or frozen frames anywhere. The data leaving your device is limited to what is necessary for displaying ads (unless you purchase ad removal), processing an in-app purchase, and basic app analytics/crash reporting — all handled by Google's Firebase and AdMob services, not by any server of our own.
The App requests the Camera permission because it is the App's core function — turning your device into a magnifier. Specifically:
The free version of the App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and process certain data to serve and measure ads, which can include:
Before ads are loaded, the App displays a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) where required by law (e.g. for users in the European Economic Area and the UK), allowing you to manage your consent for personalized advertising. If consent is required and not given, or if loading fails for any reason, the App continues to function normally without ads.
This processing is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not by us directly:
The App offers a one-time, optional in-app purchase ("Remove Ads") that permanently disables ads. This purchase is processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not receive, see, or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) — this information is handled directly by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. We only receive confirmation from Google Play that the purchase was completed, so the App can unlock the ad-free state on your device (and restore it automatically if you reinstall the App or sign in on a new device with the same Google account).
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services provided by Google, to help us understand how the App is used and to detect and fix crashes or technical errors. These services may collect:
This data is used solely to understand app usage patterns and to identify and fix bugs and crashes — it is not linked to your name, email address, or any account, since the App does not have accounts. We do not access your camera images or frozen frames through these services; they only report technical and usage information about the App itself.
For users in regions where the consent form described in Section 3 is shown, Firebase Analytics data collection is restricted by default (Google Consent Mode) unless our records show that consent is not required for your region. Crash reporting (Crashlytics) is not affected by this restriction, as it is necessary for us to keep the App stable and working correctly.
This processing is governed by Google's own privacy and data-processing terms, not by us directly:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | Core magnifier and flashlight functionality (see section 2). |
| Internet | Required to load advertisements, process in-app purchases through Google Play, and send analytics/crash reports via Firebase. Not used by the magnifier itself. |
| Network State | Used by the advertising SDK to check network availability before attempting to load an ad. |
Since we do not operate a server or database of our own, we do not retain any personal data. Any data processed for ads, purchases, analytics, or crash reports is retained according to Google's own retention practices, described in the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase data privacy page linked above.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
Because we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is generally no data held by us to access, correct, or delete. For data processed by Google (advertising identifiers, purchase records, analytics, and crash reports), you can manage your preferences directly through your Google Account settings, including resetting or opting out of ad personalization on your device (Settings → Privacy → Ads, on most Android devices). If you have questions about your rights under applicable law (such as the GDPR), you are welcome to contact us as well.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the App's functionality or in applicable law. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
